Early Christmas

Chris and I exchanged presents on Saturday morning - we will be in Minnesota on December 25. When I was in Myrtle Beach for work last week, Chris had my car wired to hook up to my iPod - it's an incredible gift. My iPod can hold thousands of songs, so now I can listen to any of my songs (not thousands yet!) on my 45 minute commute to work. My biggest gift to Chris was an expensive cutlery knife for slicing vegetables. Below he's modeling his new, supersoft robe.

Later on Saturday, we drove downtown and walked through the historical cemeteries - Granary Burial Ground, King's Chapel and Copp's. It's hard to read, but below is a picture of me leaning against Paul Revere's gravestone.

We walked back to the car through the shopping district, and beside us were several people carrying posterboards and signs. Chris, as social as ever, asked what they were protesting, and a woman handed us a PETA pamphlet detailing animal abuse. Chris started laughing hysterically, stopped in the middle of the busy sidewalk and pointed at me saying, "Look at her - she's wearing a fur-trimmed coat." The woman looked at me in total disgust, dripping disdain - I guess I should be happy she didn't throw red paint on me. Someday, I'm going to publically embarrass Chris for the years of humuliation I've endured. Oh, and just to clarify, the coat was a present from Chris last year, so really he was the culprit.... Later that night, we ate at a restaurant called No Name (on recommendation of Chris' dad) right off Fisherman's Pier. We ate fresh shrimp and fish for really reasonable prices.

Tomorrow is my last day of class for the semester, and I'm taking the day off work to finish my portfolio for the class - I need to revise all the poems I've written throughout the semester. It's harder than it sounds....

I don't know if Chris has told everyone, but he started a new job this past week at Eastern Bank as a Credit Analyst. The site is located in Lynn, MA. Chris will be driving to work for the next several months since public transit to Lynn is not as convenient as to downtown.

I am so glad you weren't covered in red paint. I am sure you of all people will be able to come up with something good to get Chris back. Hope you have a very merry Christmas!
