Thanksgiving Weekend

Joe, a former co-worker of Chris' from Eastern Bank, invited us to his house for Thanksgiving dinner. Before earning his finance degree, Joe not only served in the Marines in Hawaii but also worked as a chef here in Boston. Joe and his wife, Jennifer, prepared a fantastic dinner for us and Jennifer's mom: Hawaiian flaky pastries, mashed potatoes mixed with maple syrup, French Canadian sausage stuffing and three types of pie for dessert. And that's just a sampling of the wonderful food. We also got to meet their two children, Henry and Kaya, who reminded me of the benefits of only managing a dog. I was worn out just watching them.

The rest of the weekend has also been fun. On Friday we watched a comedy show in Harvard Square, and on Saturday we ate dinner and dessert downtown with a friend from work and her husband. Afterwards we played pool. Pooja, Guarev and Chris are all great pool players. I was definitely the worst player - I just feel lucky if I knock a couple in. Today we attempted a bit of Christmas shopping and have been avoiding homework.

On another note, the tree in the backyard finally shed most of its leaves - Chris took the first two pictures below on Thursday and the last picture was taken today.
