25 for Chris

Yesterday was Chris' twenty-fifth birthday! Since we had National Guard this weekend, we celebrated his birthday on Friday night by eating at a French Bistro. Chris ordered beef short ribs and bone marrow. The server brought out the ribs (in a broth) and a large section of bone for Chris to scrape out the marrow. I guess we should both enjoy eating this delicacy because both of us have French ancestors - not a tradition passed down on either side of the family, though.

I bought Chris a new pair of hand sewn, leather loafers he'd been broadly hinting he wanted. Chris is so subtle - he even brought me to the store, just so I could appreciate the fine craftsmanship of the shoes. Today, the first snowstorm of the season hit us. I'm hoping Chris' classes will be canceled tonight.

Next year take it up a notch and check out St. John's... you'll need some plane tickets first but there's all manner of animal parts on the menu.
