Last weekend Chris and I completed the active component of our National Guard contracts. For the rest of our time in service (one year for me and two for Chris), we will be placed in a federal pool of other soldiers who have finished their active contracts - technically, the military could deploy us, but it's unlikely. What this means for us immediately is that we will no longer be drilling one weekend a month or two weeks in the summer.

Final pictures of us (and friends) in uniform:

Congratulations and well done! You both now have an experience and expertise both in the military and in medicine that will enrich your lives for years to come.

Congratulations, guys! What an accomplishment. And just think...if you had never done it, you may not have ever met each other. God really is sovereign.
