In Memorium

Today Chris and I found out that Mohsin Naqvi, a good friend of ours from medic training, was killed in Gerdia Seria, Afghanistan, on September 17. He and three others soldiers died from wounds caused by a roadside bomb exploding into their vehicle.

All three of us were assigned to the same platoon in medic training, and Chris went through Basic Training with him, as well. Naqvi had a slightly insane sense of humor, but beneath his roughness, he had a huge heart that he tried to hide. He was dedicated to the United States, even though he was born in Pakistan and only became a U.S. citizen at age 16. Just like Chris, he signed up for the Army shortly after September 11, 2001.

Naqvi had decided to make the Army his career and became a lieutenant. He was twenty-six years old.

You can read more about him here.
