Five Years

Tomorrow marks five official years for us. I wouldn't trade the last five years for anything. We're driving to Maine tomorrow and spending the night in Portland, one of our favorite little cities to visit together.

Indiana Wedding

We had a great time in Indiana this past weekend for Carly (Chris' cousin) and Brett's wedding. Chris' parents and sister picked us up from the airport Thursday evening, and Allison, Rob and Lilly flew in on Friday afternoon. We also had a chance to visit with Chris' grandpa and his grandma, Bobbi, over the weekend. The wedding and reception were beautiful - Katie played the violin before and during the ceremony. Visits with family are always too short.

Mostly about Chris

The Tall Ships have been in Boston for the last few days. Several huge, rigged ships raced to Boston as part of the 2009 sailing exhibit and have been docked along the harbor since Tuesday. Saturday was a beautiful day to walk along the water, but we didn't get to see many of the ship with their sails out, unfortunately.
Early this morning Chris and I drove to Middleboro, which is actually in Southern Mass. Chris signed up for his first Olympic-length triathlon a few months ago and has been training as he's been able to make time. He did really well - it was fun to watch him progress through the swim, bike and run.

Born on the Fourth of July

If you're expecting a philosophical post about freedom, I'm sorry to disappoint you. This message is about wishing Greta a happy fifth birthday. For now, while Chris and I don't have any kids, Greta really is our baby, so please pardon my being so pathetic. Here she is in our backyard.
Chris and I have been spending the day together - we went to a beach in Quincy earlier and then ate a traditional American meal of sushi for lunch. We may or may not go see fireworks tonight.
Either way, Happy Fourth of July!
