Christmas & New Year's

Chris and I woke up to a peaceful Christmas morning. We opened presents from our families and then ran a cold seven miles along the Charles River.
Mid-afternoon, we drove to a work friend's house for a gourmet Christmas dinner: vegetable tempura and tuna tartar for appetizers and then a main course of beef bourdelaise and char-grilled lamb. I didn't take any pictures, unfortunately. Later in the week, we got walloped with 16 inches of snow last week. Lots of shoveling, but it certainly made downtown beautiful. On New Year's Eve, we drove into New Hampshire's White Mountains to stay the night at a friend's cabin. The father of Chris' friend built the cabin over thirty years ago. There were six of us at the cabin (three couples), and we played games, rang in the New Year and the next morning drove to the nearby Sugar Shack for breakfast. The little restaurant processes its own maple sugar, hence the name.
