First Stop: Minneapolis

Chris' grandfather Leckrone and his wife, Rose, visited us this past weekend from Indiana on the first leg of a long road trip through Minnesota, Colorado and California that will be punctuated with lots of sightseeing stops along the way. We had a fun weekend, even though huge storms barreled through Minneapolis each night they stayed with us. We didn't lose power and had minimal branches down in our yard; however, Saturday we drove to Minnehaha Falls, and none of us could stop commenting on on the downed and uprooted trees along the way. I've never seen such damage in the Twin Cities from thunder storms.

A picture of our neighbor's house, which is three doors down from us.

It was really fun to see the youngest and oldest Leckrones in the immediate family interact. Fiona took to her great-grandfather quickly with lots of smiles and "walked" around the house with him. Chris also spent some time with his grandfather querying family history and showing him a few discoveries on

Here are a few pictures from Minnehaha Falls where we ate at Sea Salt restaurant for lunch. Yum, yum.

Fiona loves to be on Chris' shoulders so much so that he doesn't hoist her up often because she throws a fit when he takes her down. She generally has her hands wrapped around his hair to steady herself.

I love the one of Great Grandpa and the book. I'm sure Fiona will love to look at these when she's older!
